Come and enjoy the film "Marcel Duchamp". Born in France, Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968), was a painter, sculptor, and author. He was associated with Cubism, Dadaism, and Surrealism, though he avoided any strict alliances. Duchamp’s early works were Post-Impressionistic in style, though he eventually turned toward the avant-garde. Duchamp’s work is characterised by humour, a wide variety of media, and its incessant probing of the boundaries of art. Admission: Non-members $5, members free.

Glow Worm Cruises

Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, (BUEI), East Broadway, Hamilton
Bermuda's fireworm or "glow worm" produces bioluminescent displays during its mating activities. During the summer nights, between two and three nights after a full moon, after sunset this illuminated mating ritual can be witnessed. This only lasts a few minutes. 4th Annual African Diaspora Heritage Trail Conference

CATCHING THE FIRE! returns the African Diaspora Heritage Trail torch to the beautiful island of Bermuda, linking the Conference with the Island’s Emancipation celebrations which are held annually to commemorate the abolition of slavery in 1834. Recapturing and revisioning the concept of a cross-border African Diaspora Heritage Trail, CATCHING THE FIRE! will translate the previous planning and valuable dialogue into solid structure by featuring the dynamic research of scholars, anthropologists, historical researchers, students, artists and other stakeholders as they uncover, recover, shape and ignite the Trail which retraces the footsteps of our ancestors.
